Jeneva is always so happy and loves to be held. She likes to play and is crawling all over the place. She can't resist investigating anything new. She brings a smile to every one's face.

School's Almost in Session
School's almost in session and my kids are beside themselves with anticipation. The countdown has been ongoing for a month. So much for Summer break being the best part of the year. We begin school next week and what we are studying is a surprise. I suppose the fact that our year is a secret has helped to build the excitement. I started talking about the adventure we were going to have this year and they immediately can't wait. I'm currently in the last stages of planning to ensure that they will be this eager for the entire year. What is the adventure? Check back next week for the posts about opening day that will reveal the learning adventure for the entire year. (There you go, a cliffhanger. Now you have to check back:)

I Love Books!
There is no Frigate like a Book
To take us Lands away,
Nor any Coursers like a Page
Of prancing Poetry –
This Traverse may the poorest take
Without oppress of Toll –
How frugal is the Chariot
That bears a Human soul.

Game Day!
A few days ago we made some games out of cardboard. Levi and Charlotte wanted ball tosses and Charlotte also used hers as a ghost mask. Jerry's is the marble/car run which was the most complicated. It's not much to look at, but it works great.

Scary Faces

Finally a Cub Scout
More than anything Jerry has been looking forward to turning 8 so he could start attending cub scout meetings. He gets very excited when each weekly meeting begins and greatly anticipates each new lesson or project he will get to participate in. Of course his favorite activity so far has been making freezer bag ice cream. His first official duty as a scout was to participate in a flag ceremony at an Eagle Scout court of honor. It turned out to be a great thrill for him.

Nelson Family
Welcome to the Nelson's Celestial Academy blog. I felt that it was time to document our family and our school for our family and friends. I will be posting frequently to keep you up to date with family events and what we do for school.
