My Birthday

Thanks to all who kindly gave me presents. I love them all and can't wait to use them. Too bad one of my presents wasn't being 29 in perpetuity.

Jerry was so proud that he pulled this tooth himself.

Making Valentines

We finally got to work on our Valentines. I can't believe we did them early enough to not be late.

Jerry's Ravioli

Jerry's patience paid off when he decided to make us ravioli's for dinner.
The boys really liked them and it's been one of the few times that Levi ate all of his food. I guess Jerry is our resident chef now:)

Washington's Quill Pen

We discussed Washington's first Inaugural Address to the Congress and the kids learned that people wrote with quill pens during Colonial times. We made our own quill pens and we tried to learn to write with them. There is certainly an art to writing in pre-20th century times.
Levi liked the store bought plastic quill pen better than the feather.
Jerry preferred to draw so I strongly suggested that he should at least write his name.
Charlotte did surprisingly well for a 4 year old. She wrote some of her letters and drew a picture. I think she is a lefty.

General Washington's Hat

Today, we started learning about George Washington. Everyday we are going to learn more and do projects until his birthday on the 22nd and then we will have a celebration in his honor.
Levi seems very inspired by the stories of Washington.
Charlotte had fun decorating her hat and calls herself Charlotte Washington.
Jerry made his hat by himself and was very proud of his effort.
