Today Jerry and Joshua were making masks for scouts and I didn't have anymore large bags so the other kids made puppets. They had fun with all of the little decorations.

We've Been Slimed!
We are watching my niece and nephews for a few days and the first request was to make slime again. This is by far the most popular project we've ever done, so here we go Slime Time 2.
Slime Recipe
Mix 1/2 c. of school glue with 1/2 c. water and some paste coloring.
Add 1 c. of water with 1 tsp. of Borax mixed in.
Mix vigorously until it's totally gelatinous and has no extra water in it.
The more you play with it, the more smooth it gets.
Store in fridge when not using.

You can see that it just oozes across the table, but it doesn't stick to hands and hard surfaces.

Winter Planting
We've been trying to get our yard in order before the warm weather hits for the year. The kids helped with weeding and then planting these Pansies.
The kids also helped plant our fruit trees. They would hold the tree in the hole while I filled it with soil. We now have 2 apples, 2 pears, 2 cherries, an almond, an apricot and a peach. When Jerry got home from work we went to see Madagascar 2 and everyone pigged out on candy and popcorn:)

Milkbox Girls
I never think how small Georgiana and Jeneva are until they get into something like the milk boxes from Costco. I thought they had to be twisted up like a pretzel to be sitting in them, but they are just sitting like they're on a ride.

Jeneva
Poor Jeneva! She seems to catch every illness that thinks of coming to town. She has another cold, this will be 3 since the beginning of December:(
What'll You Have?
The kids got these cute playdoh sets that have molds for all different kinds of food. They are making pizza, fruit, sandwiches, you name it. They are pretending to sell their different foods to each other. Unfortunately, they don't make a Playdoh set labeled "Dinner", so I can't pass off that duty to them yet.

Tonya's Midget Tamales
Here is my first attempt at making tamales. I didn't think it would be too hard, but as usual I was wrong. There are many steps and it's very time consuming to wrap them. I think the size was a little off so I'll call them my Midget Tamales. The taste test resulted in requests from the kids to make them every week. Levi, who is a very picky eater, wouldn't stop eating them. Well, I've almost resolved to make them monthly, maybe.

Charlotte is 4!
I can't believe Charlotte is 4 years old. These last few years have gone by so fast. She had a great birthday and really liked opening all her cards and gifts. She had us read everything to her and the boys were really impatient. She was savoring the moment and they just wanted her to tear into everything. Charlotte requested a Chocolate-Banana Cream Pie and I happened to see some at Costco the other day and so that's what she had.

Painting
Levi and Charlotte learned how to make prints. First you paint a cookie sheet.
Voila! A print of your art work. You need to make the print before the paint dries or you will have blank spots on your painting.
Jerry made a print too, but this is a picture of a color chart he made. He mixed the colors himself and patiently taught Charlotte what he was doing.

Jerry Loses a Tooth!
When I was brushing Jerry's teeth, I noticed that he had a loose tooth. It was super loose and he said he had been hiding it from us so we wouldn't make him wiggle it:) Well, I said let me try pulling it once and if it doesn't come out we can wait. It came right out and flung itself in the back of Jerry's throat and he almost choked on his own tooth. I've never heard of that happening before, but once it was out he was excited for the tooth fairy to come. His teeth don't even fall out when there are replacement teeth halfway up behind them, so I thought I would help out. I don't know if that was a good idea or not.
